We discovered a really cute DIY Dice Game tutorial that could be perfect for young children. The link is after our additional ideas and tips.

These could also be great to use for story time. You can easily get the materials at any arts and crafts store (You can even get them online!) Here are some ideas that will help put these cute dice cubes into good use:

1. Dollhouse – Dollhouses can get really pricey, so why don’t you make one of your own? Try creating a dollhouse out of a cardboard box. Use old magazines, newspapers and even cereal boxes for your furniture! Use acrylic paint to add some color to your dollhouse. Once your dollhouse is finished, use your dice figures as the “residents of the house.”

2. “Puppet” Show – If you want to entertain your kids, you can use cardoard boxes for your puppet shows. Aside from using socks, the dice figures will add more variety to your puppet characters. This will make it more fun for you to spend time with your kids.

Another way to make dice:

If you don’t have blocks of wood, you can try making your own dice by using cereal boxes! If you want it to be a bit more sturdy, you can add another layer. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Get your cereal box paper and place it on your work area. Get a pen and a ruler.

2. Draw a long rectangle on the center. Divide the rectangle into four equal squares. Draw another square on one side of the second square. Do the same thing on the other side (This creates a cross pattern).

3. Cut out the pattern and fold the paper along the inside lines and fold the paper inward. Use glue or tape to put it together.

4. Decorate the cube as preferred.
